Tong Hsing Electronic Industries, which provides assembly and packaging services for niche ICs and produces ceramic substrates for the production of LED devices, expects revenues to peak in the fourth quarter of 2011, according to company president Henry Liu. The CMOS image sensor segment will be the growth driver this year, and therefore about half of the company's capex budget set for the year will be used to expand its wafer realignment and testing processes for the segment, Liu indicated. While acknowledging demand for heat sink substrates from the LED backlight sector has been declining, Liu stressed that sales of substrate products for LED lighting devices have remained steady. |
