About WECC

Formed in 1998 by trade associations representing the electronic circuits industries in Asia, Europe, and North America, the World Electronic Circuits Council (WECC) is an organization of related industry associations from around the world. WECC provides a forum and brings industry representatives together to address major issues concerning the global electronic circuits industry.

WECC Mission Statement

The high frequency of changes in the world economic environment and its supporting industry infrastructure demands continuous investment and innovation by the world electronic circuits industry to meet growing requirements for agility and responsiveness. The Council, therefore, will provide a forum for member organizations to cooperate for the benefit and improvement of the industry by developing, coordinating, and executing strategies and programs in the areas of technology, market and sales, resource development, environment, and economic/political affairs. Once identified, the Council will also promote these activities in the spirit of responsibility to the world electronic circuits industry, based on the principles of free enterprise, cooperation, and mutual coexistence.

The objective of WECC standards is to achieve globally common and uniformly implemented standards across the printed circuit board industry.

WECC Members

CPCA

CPCA organizes member participation in WECC standardization initiatives, including the joint development of standards with sister associations such as IPC and JPCA; participates in standardizing tariff conditions and material consumption rates; publishes newspapers, magazines, and books; maintains the CPCA website; organizes the annual CPCA Show every March and annual Spring/Autumn symposia; conducts training programs and workshops; and carries out industry research and releases the annual “Top 100 China Electronic Circuit Enterprises.” The China Printed Circuit Association (CPCA) is a national first-tier printed circuit industry association approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and established under the Ministry of Information Industry. It comprises more than 600 member units, including PCB and CCL manufacturers, raw material and equipment suppliers, SMT and EMS providers, research institutes, and universities. CPCA was established in 1990 with independent legal entity status.

EIPC

Located in the Netherlands, the European Institute of Printed Circuits (EIPC) is an international service and networking platform for the European electronic circuits and packaging industry. Since 1968, EIPC has served nearly 130 member companies, including equipment and material suppliers, PCB fabricators, electronics manufacturers, and OEMs in the PCB industry.

HKPCA

Established in 2000, the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA) is a Hong Kong-based trade association dedicated to promoting and protecting the interests of its member companies within the printed circuit industry. With the rapid growth of PCB manufacturers in Greater China, HKPCA organizes technical and business seminars, training sessions, conferences, and exhibitions in Hong Kong and mainland China to assist members in business development. HKPCA’s mission and objectives are to represent industry viewpoints to government and international bodies, foster communication and collaboration, and create business opportunities for the printed circuit sector.

IPC

Since 1957, IPC has guided the electronic interconnection industry through dynamic transformations. IPC is a global trade association dedicated to furthering the competitive excellence and financial success of its more than 2,400 member companies. As a member-driven organization, IPC serves as a leading source for industry standards, training, market research, and public policy advocacy, supporting programs that address industry demands. IPC also provides extensive networking and business connection opportunities through international trade exhibitions, educational programs, technical conferences, and webinars.

IPCA

Founded in 1985, the Indian Printed Circuit Association (IPCA) is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to promoting advanced PCB technologies. IPCA provides platforms for manufacturing and technical exchange through seminars, conferences, educational programs, and international exhibitions. In 2001, IPCA established an Electronic Design Division and founded the Electronic Designers Circuit Association of India (EDCI) to further advance electronic design. IPCA members include PCB designers, manufacturers, end-users, equipment and raw material suppliers, and authorized representatives.

JPCA

The Japan Electronics Packaging and Circuits Association (JPCA), formerly the Japan Printed Circuit Association, was established in 1962 and approved in 1977 by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
JPCA supports the healthy development of the printed circuits and related packaging industries, fosters progress in electronics engineering, enhances product quality and operational efficiency, and contributes to the growth of the overall economy.

TPCA

The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) was founded in 1998 as the officially recognized PCB industry association in Taiwan, representing over 665 member companies. The founding of TPCA symbolizes the unity and solidarity of the printed circuit board industry, fostering collaborative global competitiveness. Through TPCA, industry resources are integrated and maximized to elevate overall competitiveness, leading Taiwan’s PCB industry into a new era. TPCA aims to provide up-to-date market intelligence, facilitate information and resource exchange among members, and actively engage in international conventions.

KPCA

Established in July 2003, the Korea Printed Circuit Association (KPCA) contributes to member benefits by enhancing the competitiveness of the Korean PCB industry and fostering cooperation among members to advance the global electronics circuit sector. KPCA facilitates partnerships among members, provides market and product intelligence, and organizes the annual KPCA Show. As an active member of WECC, KPCA collaborates closely with international counterparts to promote global PCB industry development.

ELCINA

Established in 1967, the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA) was the premier industry association formed to support electronic hardware when India’s electronics industry was in its infancy. Since then, ELCINA has established interactive forums for electronics and IT hardware manufacturers. ELCINA actively engages with government agencies to advise on policy and business environment issues, building networks with domestic and international technical institutions to disseminate technological developments and support business expansion.

THPCA

The Thailand Printed Circuit Association (THPCA) was established in 2019 to elevate the strategic role of Thailand’s PCB industry within the global electronics supply chain. THPCA provides reliable industry intelligence and business matchmaking platforms, promotes manufacturing standards, and assists members in establishing strong partnerships with international collaborators.
