The TPCA Show and IMPACT Conference were successfully completed at the end of December 2021. While they were postponed to December from October due to the pandemic, there were concerted efforts to successfully hold them together with “TAITRONICS,” “AIoT Taiwan,” and “OPTO Taiwan” to organize a group exhibition known as “Taiwan International Electronics Manufacturing Show.” These three exhibitions promote Taiwan’s electronic industry on the international stage through its soft and hard power.
  In 2021, 430 renowned domestic and foreign companies participated in the TPCA Show with 1,172 booths and 34,277 visitors, which increased by 9% from last year. At the same time, the “IMPACT (International Microsystems, Packaging, Assembly, Circuits Technology) Conference” with 44 seminars were held, covering the issues about advanced packaging, heterogeneous integration, IC substrate, and PCB. 
  Based on the optimistic expectation that the pandemic is slowing down, 90% of booths (about 1,000 ones) were booked in the TPCA Show 2022. It was scheduled to held during October 26 and 28 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. It soared to a new height this year.
Taoyuan Mayor Wen-Tsan, Cheng made an appearance and hoped to promote the Advance PCB Net-Zero Plan
  “The PCB is a very important pillar of the electronic industry. To help Taiwan’s PCB industry stay competitive to embrace the two major challenges in the future – “The New International Net-Zero Ecosystem” and “De-bottlenecking of High-end Manufacturing Investment,” the government must be more proactive,” said Taoyuan Mayor Wen-Tsan, Cheng in the opening ceremony. He also indicated that he would help to gain support from the Executive Yuan and develop a sustainable plan for carbon reduction for PCB.
High frequency, high speed and intelligence are the focus of suppliers of materials and equipment
  The advanced technology roadmap of Taiwan PCB industry published by TPCA shows that HPC, B5G-Edge, B5G-Infrastructure, and high power are the development points of Taiwan’s PCB industry. As shown in the 2021 TPCA Show, many suppliers of materials and equipment had their high-end 5G and PCB products on display, which shows the R&D results and momentum of Taiwan’s PCB industry in high-end materials, precision equipment, and smart systems. 
IMPACT promotes the cooperation between the semi-conductor and PCB industries
  Through the hybrid System, the IMPACT Conference was not affected by the pandemic and met the needs of domestic and foreign experts for sharing information about state-of-the-art technology with others. The speeches attracted great attention and inspired heated discussions. For example, VP of Micron, Dr. Akshay Singh shared the future technology trend of 3D SiP, IBM Senior Manager Dr. Shintatro Yamamichi shared the quantum PC, and Vice Chief Strategy Officer of Unimicron, Hsing Horng Lee, shared the developmental trend of the 5G AiP technology.
Great minds at Master Forum seek a net-zero approach
  As major global economies have declared their 2050 net-zero emission vision in sequence with the 2030 carbon neutral goal of the international supply chain, Taiwan’s electronic industry must not keep out of this trend because it plays a vital role in global manufacturing. Cheng-Chung, Huang, Managing Director at KPMG, KC, Chou, Senior VP, ASE Group, and Jim Chung, ISTI Deputy Director-general shared the topics about green manufacturing, net-zero emission roadmap to develop a sustainable development path for industries.
iASIA Alliance bring forth the Cloud Platform for Machinery Industry Information Model on PCB (ImPCB) moves toward the cloud
  In 2021, TPCA Show established the PCB Smart System Integration Applications booth, which shows the iASIA’s ImPCB (Information Model on PCB) with practical applications of 5G communications. Combined with the Cloud Platform for Machinery Industry by ITRI, it helps lower the barrier for entry in collecting the information about production lines and digital applications to evolve the smart manufacturing of Taiwan’s PCB industry.
High-tech x Net-zero, We desperately need to work with the government to create next-generation prosperity 
  2021 was a bumper year for Taiwan’s PCB industry. The domestic and overseas output of the industry chain had a high growth rate of 24% and a record high output of NT$ 1.28 trillion, which showed the resilience of the PCB industry during the pandemic. However, the new wave of net-zero challenges is coming and it is expected that the Taiwanese companies can cooperate with the government and corporations to move toward high end and green manufacturing to create the next golden age.
