Flexium Interconnect, a major PCB manufacturer, announced its participation in RE100 in early September and has committed to achieving the goal of the entire company using 100% renewable energy by 2040.


Impact Analysis 
RE100 is a renewable energy initiative. Although it is not mandatory, it can be adopted as a public indicator for measuring the enthusiasm of enterprises for related planning. Statistics reviewed up until September 13th, show that a total of 379 manufacturers have joined RE100, among which 78 are classified as manufacturing enterprises. When observing the changes in the total number of manufacturers over the past three years, we are finding that the manufacturing industry has enhanced its regard for the initiative significantly.   
                                            
The target schedule analysis depicts that as many as 53% of the manufacturing companies will join in the initiative to commit to using 100% renewable energy by 2030. The proportion committed by Flexium for 2040 will be an increase of 71%. Being the first Taiwanese PCB factory to join RE100, Flexium is recognized for having benchmarking significance. According to its declaration, this will not only help with its corporate image but will also influence other PCB manufacturers, which should enhance the enthusiasm for Taiwan's PCB industry in response to carbon reduction.
