To enhance the economic and trade linkages between Taiwan and Mexico, TPCA, in collaboration with TEEMA and delegates from Taiwan and Mexico, established the "Taiwan-Mexico Working Group Meeting" in Jan 2023. The Taiwan-Mexico Meeting aims to understand the feasibility of investing in Mexico by Taiwanese companies. The Mexican members of the group are comprised of the Mexican Ministry of Economy, public associations, and local electronics factories. Several online conferences were held to discuss the possibility of investing in Mexico, the situation of foreign investment in Mexico, concerns of Taiwanese investors, Mexican preferential and recommended investment industrial zones, etc. 

The attendees actively discussed plans for reciprocal visits, and the Mexican Ministry of Economy has led a delegation to visit Taiwan to inspect Taiwanese factories at the end of March. During the delegation visit, the particular considerations of the industry, including the integrity of the supply chain (materials, equipment, chemicals, waste disposal), completeness of infrastructure (water, electricity, transportation), local labor and overseas management, localized production and orders (proximity to customers), and investment incentive policies. Mexico has many advantages, such as an extensive domestic and open economic market. After joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), Mexico has become one of the world's essential manufacturing bases. With the US-China trade war causing supply chain risks, many manufacturers are turning to Mexico for investment opportunities.
