The revenue of Symtek Automation Asia, an integrated service provider of intelligent automation, has grown tremendously in the first quarter, with the set-up of a high-end PCB factory primarily driving the growth. Furthermore, the rise of the smart factory has brought about the need to change machines and expand production lines.
Symtek has indicated that PCB products in China are mostly low-end multi-layer boards with fewer than eight layers. However, with the rise of 3C electronic products in recent years, such as smart phones, LED, digital TVs, loTs, and other products that have been so successfully launched, the trend has moved toward lighter, thinner, and shorter products, triggering the demand for such primary components as HDI, flexible print circuits (FPC), and other high-end PCB products in order to continuously grow the support system for operation.
Furthermore, loTs, information streams, and the integrated automation and facade of smart factories are now considered the industrial trend. To help enhance production quality and efficiency, many industries are now heading towards smart factories. Based on statistics provided by the Institute for Information Industry (III), the scale of smart factories around the around has exceeded US$200 every year, and their revenue is estimated to reach as high as US$300 billion after three years. Therefore, when a traditional factory becomes a smart factory, its demand for intelligent equipment should increase enormously and it considered a lynchpin for spurring Symtek Automation’s revenue.
According to statistics, the global PCB market will experience 5.58% annual growth, while the large-scale FPC factory of Symtek Automation will start to sending shipments to fill orders in the second quarter. In addition to factory expansion for panels, the growth of Symtek Automation in this area is very optimistic. Furthermore, Symtek Automation’s wafer factory will launch a mobile robot, which is expected to harvest some achievements in this quarter. Furthermore, its mini stocker, a novel product for small and smart storage, has also successfully penetrated into the wafer factory for testing. (Information source: Money DJ)
