Due to the unexpected Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the global economy is being tested. Many variables exist in the development of the pandemic, which gives an impact on the production of the electronic manufacturing industry. Fortunately, Taiwan is doing well fighting the pandemic and Taiwanese PCB companies have comprehensive domestic and overseas development. While their utilization was decreased in Q1 due to the lockdown of cities in Mainland China, the deployment of 5G base stations, networking products, and servers offset this adverse impact in Q2. TPCA has announced that the total output of the Taiwanese companies in cross-strait markets reached NT$ 292.1 billion in the first half of 2020, slightly increased by 1.3% when compared to counterparts from last year. Looking forward to the next half of the year, as the traditional peak seasons come with a promising outlook, the annual output of the Taiwanese PCB industry is highly likely to maintain growth.
　　Considering the booming 5G opportunities, the Taiwanese PCB supply chains are speeding up development with domestic and overseas investments. According to the TPCA’s statistics, the Taiwanese companies of PCB manufacturing and raw materials will invest a total of more than NT$ 100 billion in 2020 in Taiwan and other countries. To meet the needs of advanced processes for high-speed computing, they will replace old facilities with new ones or invest in new factories. For example, in addition to factories in Mainland China, the investment made by Taiwanese companies are much more eagerly anticipated. For example, Unimicron Technology Corporation plans to build new factories in Taoyuan, Zhen Ding Tech acquired BoardTek Electronics Corp, and Mutual-Tek industries, Flexium, Kinsus, and Nan Ya Plastics further invested in factories of copper foils. It is expected to drive huge business opportunities for high-end equipment and materials in the peripheral industries.
　　To help meet the procurement needs of Taiwanese PCB companies, as the industry has the advantage of a complete supply chain and all representative companies of equipment and materials have established their branches in Taiwan, the TPCA Show will be be held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center I from October 21-23. The 21st “TPCA Show” will connect the entire PCB industry supply chain, demonstrating high-end manufacturing advantages. 　　During the period of the show, the “Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Zone” has been built jointly with the US-based IPC, in the hope that relevant representative SMT companies will take part in to reinforce the connection of the supply chain of the Taiwanese PCB industry; the “PCB Smart Internet of Machines Theme Zone” was planned by TPCA and Institute for Information Industry to showcase the industry roadmap, establish standards, and facilitate the demonstrative alliance. The participating companies will demonstrate their materials for high frequency and high-speed materials and focus on the 5G communications, and their relevant applications, such as the Internet of Vehicles, autonomous vehicles, Industry 4.0, and smart factories. At the same time, the International Microsystems, Packaging, Assembly and Circuits Technology Conference (IMPACT-EMAP) will focus on and discuss the forward-looking packaging processes and PCB technologies. In this Conference, the elite speakers from the best Taiwanese semi-conductor company, TSMC, and Unimicron Technology Corporation for packaging ASE and PCB will announce the trend of the electronic manufacturing with high-speed computing. In addition to providing an exchange platform for PCB companies and upstream and downstream companies to share intelligence with each other, the TPCA Show 2020 expects the latest electronic manufacturing technologies to be unveiled and break traditional boundaries. This will be one of the spotlights in the show this year. 
　　The event organizer will follow the instructions given by the Central Epidemic Command Center and the rules specified by Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
