Wu Yung Tsai, general manager of Inventec, said on the 11th of this month that this year has witnessed a strong demand for the company’s servers and laptops, and due to large volumes of shipments in the second quarter, as a base period of the shipments of servers and laptops —the third quarter would see a double-digit growth, which would reach the same levels as those of the second quarter.
　　Wu Yung Tsai said that he was quite optimistic about the demand of servers and laptops. As far as servers are concerned, data centers both in China and the United States are constantly growing. Besides this, they are requesting additional materials and there is still an overdue supply of materials. Although there are geopolitical risks at the moment, factories of Inventec in the mainland are still delivering orders to the data centers of China. As for shipments that are bound for North America, shipping origins have been moved to factories in Taiwan and Mexico. Therefore, it will not affect the operations of the company. He said that there were shortages in the market supply of these components which currently include IC, processors, and LCDs. The same situation is playing out with other peers. Whether or not shipments will be increased in the future still depends largely on the supply condition of materials.
