Although Apple's spring presentation is postponed until April, everyone is still confident about the new mini LED product that has frequently been pinpointed to be unveiled during the event.
 

Impact analysis
In June 2019, Apple released the 6K Pro Display XDR display that adopts Mini LED backlight display technology to achieve a higher HDR effect and finer picture quality. This innovation has also driven relevant supply chains to continue investing in research and development resources. As we march into 2021, manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, TCL, Hisense, Konka, Skyworth, Xiaomi, Changhong, AUO, Innolux, BOE, TCL Optoelectronics and other key suppliers, will continue releasing a number of high-end products equipped with Mini LED screens; all of them planning to launch Mini LED backlight TVs in 2021. Among them, the leading manufacturer, Samsung, has already established more than 50 Mini LED production lines in Vietnam. After the mass production starts in 2021, production will support the upward development of the Mini LED. LED technology has fiercely spread since 2019, surely an indicator that mid-to-high-end TVs are on their way in 2021, given the strong support by various brand factories. On the other hand, prices of LCD TVs have continued to rise in 2021 (as shown in the chart). Taking the 65-inch open cell TV as an example, prices increased sharply by 42% within a year, and that of the 55-inch TV by 72%. In this context, higher prices can be expected for the Mini LED TV. As for backplane circuit board, the technological shift indicates that the industry will be reshuffled to a certain extent, and the challenge of circuit boards from the evolution of traditional LED to the Mini LED will mainly be reflected in spacing, high density, and yield rate resulting from the doubled number of LEDs. This will have an impact on the choice of plate material and the production process.
